Anna Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (NC), RYT500 and Registered Psychotherapist (CO).  Anna has spent nearly 10 years working in therapeutic services, focusing on developing an understanding of the mind-body connection and best approaches for clinical interventions. Prior to coming to clinical work, she collaborated with trauma experts to develop innovative approaches to care for boys and men who’ve exited the life of sex trafficking, as a result of her findings she co-produced a full length Documentary film on the issue. Anna is also a adjunct faculty at Metropolitan State Denver, School of Social Work. 
Anna, through her personal experience and training she learned a combination of trauma informed yoga and counseling can open up pathways of healing cognitively, emotionally and physically.

Anna’s approach to therapy is an embodied, interpersonal, and narrative (story) focused. She is easy going and a fan of allowing you to guide your processes of treatment. Anna also offers trauma-informed yoga and counseling through the lens of trauma theory, attachment, and knowledge of neuroscience. Studies suggest that trauma-informed yoga combined with psychotherapy can improve person’s reorientation to their bodies, which can aid in trauma survivors' healing and empowerment.

Anna’s education includes a Master of Social Work from East Carolina University and 500 RYT in yoga therapeutics from the Wilmington Yoga Center. 

Aside from her work, Anna loves to adventure outdoors with her husband, and young daughter.
