Kelly King, PhD, LPCA, NCC
Dr. Kelly King is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Nationally Certified Counselor whose primary focus is working with clients in recovery from addiction. In addition to providing counseling services, she is currently a professor in the Counselor Education Program at North Carolina Central University. Dr. King holds a doctorate in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dr. King views counseling as a dynamic, relational process where she collaborates with you to make meaningful changes. She strives to offer culturally responsive services that will affirm your identity and provide a supportive environment for vulnerable personal exploration. Informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dr. King incorporates action-oriented techniques to support intentional, mindful living.
To date, Dr. King has served individuals, couples, families, and groups with diverse backgrounds and presenting concerns. She has extended experience addressing the following difficulties:

- Intimate partner and sexual violence
- Life transitions
- Interpersonal issues
- Grief and loss
- Occupational/academic concerns
