Dr. Marie Huggins (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina and holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; as well as M.Ed in Counselor Education and Supervision with a concentration in College Counseling and Student Development in Higher Education and a BA in Applied Psychology and Africana Studies Minor from North Carolina State University. She also holds the credentials of National Certified Counselor and a Global Career Development Facilitator.
Dr. Huggins is a dedicated counseling professional and currently has eight years of post-master's counseling experience, providing services to both individuals and groups, including adults and collegiate populations. Her counseling philosophy and theoretical framework are grounded in an eclectic approach that encompasses a strengths-based approach, as well as the incorporation of Trauma-Informed Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
As a counselor, it is her honor to assist clients on a path toward hope and healing. Seeking help no matter the challenge or circumstances exhibits strength, wisdom, and courage.
