Kristina Anne Platt (she/her/hers), is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (#A18945), a National Certified Counselor and Certified Trauma Professional passionate about helping others through their unique journey of mental health exploration.
Coming from a background in studying biology, early childhood development, and education, Kristina has always been fascinated by the human condition. As a therapist, she aims to integrate the knowledge gained in a professional capacity and lived experience of mental health struggles to support the recovery and growth of all her clients.
Kristina entered the field of mental health counseling to be the person she wished she had during the worst and best times of her own mental health journey. She knows that starting the therapy process can be overwhelming; whether it’s your first time in therapy or your first time with a new therapist — and she makes it her goal to offer a space that promotes understanding, acceptance, and safety to work in.
Therapy is not one size fits all. To ensure her clients get the most out of their time together, Kristina utilizes an integrative approach to therapy; bringing in elements from different treatment modalities through a person-centered, mindfulness-based lens to provide a personalized experience. (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, Somatics, Neurocounseling, Narrative Exposure Therapy, etc.)
Kristina believes one of the most important aspects of a positive therapy experience is the counselor-client relationship. In therapy, clients are asked to come as their most authentic self, and Kristina strives to do the same. You can expect to be validated, supported, and gently challenged during your time together. By keeping lines of communication open about the therapy experience we can create meaningful growth and change as you move toward your goals.
     Therapy Style: Warm, Humorous, Open-Minded
