My name is Joy Stucker and I am a current Masters student at NC State in the Clinical Mental Health Counselor program. I completed my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and African American Studies with a concentration in Women's Studies at The University of Georgia. My own personal experiences as well as my education has shaped my desire to sit with people and their stories, honor and value individual differences, and advocate for each person that walks through my door, while also empowering you to be the biggest advocate for yourself.
As a Mental Health Practitioner, my goal is to provide you with effective, empathetic, and individualized care, while also advocating for social justice and equal access to mental health support. As we navigate the stages of your life together, I aim to provide necessary coping skills for your emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. I aspire to create a comfortable, honest, and freeing space for you, as I remain curious about who you are and honor your unique experiences. I am a firm believer that you are the best resource you will ever have for yourself, so I am excited to partner alongside you on your counseling journey and help you reach your goals.
I aim to use an eclectic approach to best meet your individual needs by utilizing existential and strength based perspectives, techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and incorporating creative modalities from Narrative Therapy. Most importantly, I strive to create a working relationship between us that ensures your counseling experience reflects your values, desires, and goals. My main approach, however, is to meet you where you are. Let's get real together!

Hi there! I’m Kristina Anne Platt, a current Master’s student at NC State in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I have an eclectic background that led me to mental health counseling, including a foundation in biology, early childhood through adolescent development, family and home dynamics, and education. These experiences along with my own mental health journey led me here to be in a position where I can be the person I needed and saw the need for in my community.
It is my fullest belief that the therapy process and its effectiveness hinges on the client-counselor relationship. My goal is to provide a safe space for clients to explore the obstacles, stressors, and unknowns that they may face in their life. Starting this journey can be uncomfortable, whether it’s your first time in therapy or starting with a new therapist. So, to make our time together as effective and supportive as possible, I encourage open lines of communication and ongoing feedback to help you feel in control of your mental health journey.
