POC Counselor Training Fellowship - January 2021

Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Queer and Trans/GNC folx are highly encouraged to apply.

The POC Counselor Training Fellowship is a practicum and internship training program for counselors of color*. The practicum and internship training program is a joint partnership between Creasman Counseling and Radical Healing and will take place at the Radical Healing campus.

The fellowship is accepting new applications for practicum and internship for CACREP-accredited mental health counseling degree programs. The internship experience will fulfill requirements for Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (or in some states, “Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors” or “Licensed Mental Health Counselors”) and applicants should be ready to start in January 2021.

The internship program trains clinicians to practice from an anti-oppression, anti-racist lens and from a social justice perspective. Trainees will use an integrated model of DBT, CBT and relational cultural model of care to support a diverse range of clients with marginalized identities, including folx from intersectional identities, queer, trans and gnc folx.

The fellowship includes clinical supervision and access to peer supervision groups and groups at Radical Healing.

*People of Color is a historical term referring to the shared experience of racism upon minoritized people from the African diaspora, Arabs/Middle Easterners, Latinx peoples, Asian/Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, multiracial people, as well as immigrants and those whose native language is a source of oppression.
